My dad had a work event, but I really wanted to start the process of getting the engine out, so I decided to go at it on my own.
Here are a few things I learned:
- draining the cooling system is different than evacuating the air conditioner – it took me a minute to figure that out
- the “water” in the cooling system is green – because it’s not just water, there’s antifreeze in there
- the crank case holds the oil (that’s in the next episode)
- Google is helpful when trying to learn something
- there’s no harm in trying
It was stressful to be in there on my own, but it was exhilarating to say that I read, researched, and figured out how to drain the cooling system all by myself. I am proud of myself, but I was also really grateful when my dad got home!
