Finishing my engine rebuild for my 1965 Ford Falcon. My 200ci inline six is finally coming together!
It has been a long process to get to this point, but I am so excited that the engine is ready to go back into the car. There are only a few more items to do before I get to install it and hear it start for the first time.
My checklist for this engine rebuild was long, but it felt amazing to systematically work my way through and get every part of the process done right. Well, almost. I had to go back and redo the thread sealant on the head bolts, but everything was eventually done right! I was also grateful for the tools that Capri Tools sent me to help me build up my toolbox. I used so many of those tools while putting my engine back together.
Special thanks goes out to John Howard, who talked us through installing our fuel pump. You saved us a ton of stress and agony. Also, a big thanks to my big brother, Luke. He is always there to lend an extra hand in the garage when we need it. Fun fact: this is the first video where you can actually catch a glimpse of all four members of my family. I am so grateful that my whole family is on board and supports this amazing project.
There was so much footage that didn’t make it into this episode, but was too good to leave on the cutting room floor, so my dad made two extra videos that are up for all to see on my Patreon page. Head over to my Patreon page – https://www.patreon.com/elliesgarage – to watch for FREE!
See how I created guide bolts to put the head in place. I was pretty proud of making these guides myself.
You can also watch me painting my exhaust manifold with some High Temp Coating from Eastwood. If you’re interested in the exact paint I used, you can find it here: https://www.eastwood.com/factory-gray…
